If you have completed one of our signature Maker2Market programs and completed at least 3 market days in your 12-month pathway making you 'market-ready', we can recommend you to become a student stallholder at Old Bus Depot Markets and enjoy 14 market days at a reduced student cost.

Checklist ... 

  • You are under 18 when making this application
  • Completed one of our signature programs: Maker2Market Business Taster experience and/or Maker2Market Online experience and three additional market-days as part of the pathways program and deemed 'market ready' by the team @edii who can then issue you a formal recommendation.
  • You understand that application means committing to 14 market days at the student rate which can be paid either up-front or as you attend each market day.
  • You have your own public liability insurance or have the capacity to pay OBDM their per market insurance charge of $15 p/market
  • You understand that you will be responsible for your own 3x3 market stall including tables, power, merchandise, products, and marketing ( tables, and powered sites can also be purchased for a fee from OBDM).

The Maker2Market Business Taster experience develops independent creative thinkers who through the experience of a full business cycle and real-world learning empower their entrepreneurial mindset. Held in Canberra and in school holiday periods, creative 10-17-year-olds, take a deep dive into business concepts, problem solving, identifying their ideal customer, developing their business name + logo, developing a prototype of a hand-made product and testing it before developing 25 products to take to a commercial market on the third day at Old Bus Depot Markets, Kingston or Dairy Road Markets, East Lake.

 Maker2Market Online Experience is an after-school course that builds real-world marketing and business skills for 12-17 year olds to take their hand-made products online. Four fun, comprehensive online modules of personal coaching helps participants explore and formulate their business 'why', branding and positioning, styling of hand-made product and pitching skills to communicate their brand online. At the conclusion of the course participants will enjoy a 6-month listing in our NEW  Maker2Market Directory for young makers and micro-businesses + featured in our Lookbook advertising feature.
